About Lawsons Timber

Lawsons timber is one of the oldest timber companies in Edinburgh. It has been a family business for 2 generations before being purchased by East End Sawmills Ltd in December 2004.

The Company was founded by the McKill family and has been run by Donald McKill since 1983. The company traded from 10 Lady Lawson St in the centre of Edinburgh servicing local builders , joiners , local authorities and DIY customers.

When Lawsons was taken over it was obvious from the start that the site at Lady Lawson St. was to small and the parking was not suitable. Customers had problems parking and with congestion charge looming a move to a new site was a priority.

The new site at Unit 3 Bankhead Industrial Estate , Sighthill has plenty of parking and ideal for the loading and unloading of vehicles.

The move will allow Lawsons to expand over the next few years.

The main products that are supplied are the same as East End Sawmills. Timber, sheet materials,doors and specially machined bespoke timber products.
